Flying from San Francisco to Bangkok. This will be a short 18h+ trip, and a good opportunity to test the iOS WordPress App on the go, so far so good.

Written by drseb on January 18th, 2012Guitar Porn: Fender Custom Shop Eric Clapton “EC Gray” Limited Edition
Written by drseb on January 25th, 2011In case you are wondering, I no longer have any of the guitars shown on this blog. However I’m happy to share these pictures as it can be tricky to find high resolution pictures of some of these instruments.
This one was a Fender Custom Shop Eric Clapton Stratocaster “EC Gray” Limited Edition, 500 pieces of which were built in 2010. The color matches Eric Clapton’s Grigio Silverstone Ferrari, and the guitar comes with a “limited edition” neck plate, logo, and Custom Shop case.
It really is ‘just’ like any of the other Custom Shop Eric Clapton Strats, if you can find one in this color you may as well get it given the limited nature of this finish. Just don’t buy it as an investment as it will most likely never be worth it, let’s face it there are a zillion Custom Eric Clapton Stratocasters around…
Death Valley

Guitar Porn: Fender Custom Shop Heavy Relic 56 Stratocaster
Written by drseb on October 9th, 2010For your viewing pleasure here is an example of a Fender Custom Shop 56 Heavy Relic Stratocaster, this one as 6105 frets and 9.5″ radius for improved playability over vintage necks. The necks thickness is close to 1″ at the 12th fret, yet it is surprisingly comfortable and the resonance from the added mass is to die for.
Guitar Porn: Fender John Mayer BLACK1 Special Edition Stratocaster
Written by drseb on October 9th, 2010Fender just did a limited run of 500 pieces of the John Mayer Stratocaster with specs similar to reliced Strat John Mayer plays on stage.
Among the goodies are a black finish for the body, all gold hardware, white pearl Schaller tuners, and a newly designed InCase gig bag. A Custom Shop Relic version is in the works, however that one is in a whole different price range.
This Strat is essentially a 60s-style Stratocaster with special tuners, 6105 frets, and flatter 9.5″ radius for improved playability.

Written by drseb on September 11th, 2010Got the chance to grab tickets for Jimmie Vaughan playing at Moe’s Alley in Santa Cruz, CA on September 11th 2010. The Mike Eldred Trio was opening for the band and electrified the audience, both bands were fantastic. Make sure to check Mike Eldred Trio’s latest CD “61 49″ on their website.
In short: a truly memorable evening.

Written by drseb on June 26th, 2010This was another trip to Yosemite to capture a moonbow over Yosemite Falls. The couple pictures below were taken en-route to Yosemite Valley, you can spot Half-Dome in the background of the first one:
This was the perfect combination for a spectacular moonbow thanks to clear skies and a strong water flow at Lower Yosemite Falls:
Jonny Lang live at the Montalvo Arts Center, Saratoga, CA
Written by drseb on June 18th, 2010The Montalvo Arts Center, along with the Mountain Winery, offers one of the most intimate venues for top quality live music, performers such as Buddy Guy, BB King, Sheryl Crow, Bonnie Raitt, and Jonny Lang regularly grace their stages.
Jonny Lang is an exceptional musician who can sing better than anyone else, and make his guitar sing, cry, and beg for mercy.
On this tour, Jonny came back to a pre-”Turn Around” CD era setlist with energetic blues and rock songs. His band is composed of Akil Thompson on guitar, Jim Anton at the bass, Dwan Hill on keyboard, Barry Alexander at the drums, and Jason Eskridge on vocals.
Thailand: Ang Thong National Marine Park
Written by drseb on April 21st, 2010I went on a full day speed boat tour of the Ang Thong National Marine Park west of Koh Samui. We started the tour with a snorkeling stop. While the water was clear it was nowhere as clear as Koh Tao’s waters.
