Bodie State Park

Sunday, July 19th, 2009

Here are a few shots from Bodie State Park near Mono Lake in California, these photos date back from June 2008 and were taken with a wide angle Tokina 12-24mm ATX Pro lens. The park is usually accessible from mid-May to November, during winter over-snow equipment is required since the last few miles leading to the entrance are unpaved. If you are in the area you should also spend couple hours near Mono Lake with its unique rock formations.

Joshua Tree National Park

Saturday, July 4th, 2009

The visit started with a hike to 29 Palms’ oasis:
29_Palms_3The sight of the oasis at the horizon is quite surreal given that we had been hiking in the middle of the desert for 45 minutes with just rocks and cacti in sight:

San Diego

Friday, July 3rd, 2009

The day started by an early morning visit of San Diego along Broadway street. There are remnants of San Diego’s wood balconies, similar ones can be seen abundantly in Lima, this one below dates back from 1888:

A lame lack of taste? You can find all kinds of meats here as this ‘steak’ place is both a strip club and steak house…DSC_0393
