Fender just did a limited run of 500 pieces of the John Mayer Stratocaster with specs similar to reliced Strat John Mayer plays on stage.
Among the goodies are a black finish for the body, all gold hardware, white pearl Schaller tuners, and a newly designed InCase gig bag. A Custom Shop Relic version is in the works, however that one is in a whole different price range.
This Strat is essentially a 60s-style Stratocaster with special tuners, 6105 frets, and flatter 9.5″ radius for improved playability.

Big deal! Pretty, but some guy wrote on it and it is missing a part on the back. Almost as bad as a Gibson that Slash wrote on. I need drugs to get this mess.
I suspect you’ll need more than drugs to get it…
The above comments clearly have no idea as to the big dipper pickups unique sound
Spot on! Big Dippers are fantastic sounding and nothing like other Fender pickups… Now if Fender could offer these as OEM parts it would be great, and likely cannibalize sales of JM Strats too…
