Saturday, September 11th, 2010Got the chance to grab tickets for Jimmie Vaughan playing at Moe’s Alley in Santa Cruz, CA on September 11th 2010. The Mike Eldred Trio was opening for the band and electrified the audience, both bands were fantastic. Make sure to check Mike Eldred Trio’s latest CD “61 49″ on their website.
In short: a truly memorable evening.

Saturday, September 4th, 2010Full Moon’s moonbow over Yosemite Falls
Saturday, June 26th, 2010This was another trip to Yosemite to capture a moonbow over Yosemite Falls. The couple pictures below were taken en-route to Yosemite Valley, you can spot Half-Dome in the background of the first one:
This was the perfect combination for a spectacular moonbow thanks to clear skies and a strong water flow at Lower Yosemite Falls:
Jonny Lang live at the Montalvo Arts Center, Saratoga, CA
Friday, June 18th, 2010The Montalvo Arts Center, along with the Mountain Winery, offers one of the most intimate venues for top quality live music, performers such as Buddy Guy, BB King, Sheryl Crow, Bonnie Raitt, and Jonny Lang regularly grace their stages.
Jonny Lang is an exceptional musician who can sing better than anyone else, and make his guitar sing, cry, and beg for mercy.
On this tour, Jonny came back to a pre-”Turn Around” CD era setlist with energetic blues and rock songs. His band is composed of Akil Thompson on guitar, Jim Anton at the bass, Dwan Hill on keyboard, Barry Alexander at the drums, and Jason Eskridge on vocals.
Thailand: Ang Thong National Marine Park
Wednesday, April 21st, 2010I went on a full day speed boat tour of the Ang Thong National Marine Park west of Koh Samui. We started the tour with a snorkeling stop. While the water was clear it was nowhere as clear as Koh Tao’s waters.

Thailand: Koh Samui
Tuesday, April 20th, 2010If you don’t want to be stopped every block by tailors and massage shops you may want to stay away from Chaweng Street or avoid Koh Samui altogether…

Thailand: Koh Tao – day 2
Sunday, April 18th, 2010I booked a snorkeling tour around the island via Diamond Tours, they are cheap, the owners are super nice. They stop by several snorkeling spots around Koh Tao including Shark Bay where you can spot black tip reef sharks, and dock on Koh Nangyuan for the final stop which offers a breathtaking view from its top.
I loved this tour so much that I booked the exact same tour the next day (not that I had much else to do on Koh Taho anyways).

Saturday, April 17th, 2010Thailand: Songkran in Chiang Mai
Tuesday, April 13th, 2010Since I’m always carrying a DSLR camera I was hesitant participating in Chiang Mai’s Songkran festival. Eventually I extended my stay in Chiang Mai thanks to the red shirts in Bangkok. Luckily people were nice and avoided throwing water as long as the camera was visible (YMMV), it was another story once I left it at the hotel.
Once again, if you value your life I suggest not to rent a motorcycle during the Songkran festival:
